The use temperature is another important factor affecting the permanent deformation of the O-ring seal. High temperatures can accelerate the aging of rubber materials. The higher the working temperature, the greater the compression permanent deformation of the O-ring. When the permanent deformation exceeds 40%, the O-ring loses its sealing ability and leaks. The initial stress value formed in the rubber material of the O-ring due to compression deformation will gradually decrease and disappear with the relaxation process and temperature decrease of the O-ring. The initial compression of O-ring seals that operate at temperatures below zero may decrease or completely disappear due to a sharp decrease in temperature. At temperatures ranging from -50 to -60 ℃, rubber materials that are not resistant to low temperatures will completely lose their initial stress; Even for low-temperature resistant rubber materials, the initial stress at this time will not be greater than 25% of the initial stress at 20 ℃. This is because the initial compression of the O-ring depends on the coefficient of linear expansion. Therefore, when selecting the initial compression amount, it is necessary to ensure that there is still sufficient sealing capacity after the stress decreases due to the relaxation process and temperature drop.

Conductive silica gel evenly distributes conductive particles such as silver coated copper powder and nickel coated graphite powder in the silica gel, and achieves good conductivity by contacting and connecting the conductive particles with each other. Currently, it has applications in both military and commercial fields. Its main function is sealing and electromagnetic shielding. Its raw material has a similar shape and appearance to ordinary silicone, but it has different functional functions. In silicone product manufacturers, its production and processing method is also the same as ordinary silicone.

1. Vulcanized rubber sealant strip Generally made of EPDM material. Excellent comprehensive performance, outstanding ozone resistance, excellent weather resistance, excellent resistance to high and low temperatures, outstanding chemical resistance, ability to withstand multiple polar solutes, and low relative density. The disadvantage is that it has a large expansion in general mineral oils and lubricants, and is generally dark colored products. The operating temperature range is -60~150 ℃. With its wide application range and excellent comprehensive performance, it has been recognized by domestic and foreign industry enterprises.

The scale of the groove: groove bottom diameter, groove width, groove depth, and other data. To determine the size of the O-ring, if it is a static seal, it can usually be recognized as follows: groove bottom diameter/1.04 (elongation calculated at 4 * *)=O-ring inner diameter; Slot depth * 1.2 (tightening rate calculated at 20 * *)=O-ring diameter; Considering that the cross-section of the O-ring will deform and spread out after tightening, the groove width is usually about 1.3 times the wire diameter. Of course, it needs to be summarized and considered based on the sealing conditions, which can only be said roughly. There are also dynamic seals, rotary seals, reciprocating seals, axial seals, radial seals, and so on.
